Are you dressing for who you are now or who you were in your last relationship?
Heidi -6 week style journey
"Sarah helped me feel stylish and creative with my clothing for the first time in my life, and now getting dressed makes me feel bold, confident, and excited to be seen in the world."
What was going on for you before we started working together?
I hated getting dressed. I felt so lost in my style, I didn't feel good in any of my outfits, and I grew to dread having to figure out what to wear each day.
What shifted for you through our sessions, in your outfits, style mindset, and habits?
I started to feel excited and energized about using my style as a form of self-expression. Instead of criticizing my body, I started to see it as a canvas, something I can use to express my personality and creativity. Getting dressed began to feel playful, light hearted, and fun. I worried less about if I looked “attractive” and started to wear things that made me feel bold and confident.
How do you see yourself differently now compared to before we started working together?
I focus less on any perceived “flaws” in my body, and focus more on how clothes make me feel. I see myself as someone who can walk into a room with total confidence.
How has your style changed the way you show up in your day-to-day life or work?
I show up with much more confidence. I stand taller. I feel bolder, and I know that impacts the choices I make both socially and professionally.
Is there anything you're doing now that you wouldn't have done before we worked together?
I no longer worry if I'm overdressed, or dressed differently than others. I focus on what makes me feel good. And I don't ask for anyone's approval on my outfits.
What is the one thing you'd tell someone considering working with me?
Working with Sarah changed the way I see my body, the way I see clothes, and how I show up in my day-to-day life. Her teaching style is so accessible and she really got me. Before working with her I dreaded getting dressed every day, and nothing I wore really felt like me. Sarah helped me feel stylish and creative with my clothing for the first time in my life, and now getting dressed makes me feel bold, confident, and excited to be seen in the world.

""It was like a part of me was being released after years in captivity! I went from wanting to hide in the shadows, to wanting to shout, scream and be seen!"
What was going on for you before we started working together?
Clothes were no longer fun or a source of joy, and getting dressed each morning felt like a stressful chore. In a bid to adapt and update my wardrobe based on what other people had told me about what suited me colour wise, things I was just drawn to in shops & items I bought because they ‘looked good’ on other people, I’d ended up completely losing myself, often looking in the mirror and feeling like I was playing a character that never felt quite me. If an outfit worked, it was pure luck - with a failure rate that was increasing by the day.
What shifted for you through our sessions, in your outfits, style mindset, and habits?
The realisation of how much I loved patterns, and how I could be edgy without being head-to-toe black, was startling. I found myself making bolder choices, experimenting more and learning to play with clothes again. I found myself mentally pre-planning office outfits the night before and started to feel genuinely excited about the reaction I’d get from people. The combined result was a seismic shift in my self-belief. It’s also been an enormous help learning to go shopping with filters and means i’m making far more strategic decisions.
What shifted for you through our sessions, in your confidence?
Clothes became fun again and, even more importantly, the outfits we were creating felt like a version of myself I’d only ever dreamt of; it was like a part of me was being released after years in captivity! I went from wanting to hide in the shadows, to wanting to shout, scream and be seen! The confidence it’s given me is like nothing else. I’ve always been awful at receiving compliments, however I’ve received so many since working with Sarah and now all they do is spur me on to thinking ‘what can we try next?!’
What is the one thing you’d tell someone considering working with me?
Do it! Best investment I've made in YEARS. From the moment I came across Sarah, I could tell she was different and she did not disappoint. It’s a big deal opening up your wardrobe, habits and insecurities with a stranger, but never once did I feel judged or discouraged. Our calls were always a weekly highlight and I was always at the pace of progress.

""It was like a part of me was being released after years in captivity! I went from wanting to hide in the shadows, to wanting to shout, scream and be seen!"
Having been out of employment for a long while and with changes to my physical appearance, I’d lost my identity and purpose. Years of a shopping addiction and mental illness meant my home had hoards of clothes in it, which meant I had lost sight of my personal style in the sheer quantity of what I owned. Despite having so many clothes, I was mainly getting dressed in comfortable, scruffy loungewear, as my self-esteem was so low, and I just didn’t know where to start with getting out of the hole. I was feeling very stuck and overwhelmed.
Through having regular sessions, the outlet to discuss my challenges and then receive actionable goals kept me moving forward. Small changes in daily habits meant I started to face my hoard and work on it every day in whatever way was achievable. The daily check-ins especially helped me plan my tasks and feel accountable to someone else, and then once I started seeing progress in my home environment, I had a clearer mind to think about what I wanted from my life and who I wanted to be on the other side of de-hoarding.
My challenges were always validated, and you didn’t try to push your own narrative or agenda. You adapted your coaching to meet me where I was at, whilst also giving me some well-intended kicks in the right direction if required. Supportive and knowledgeable but not afraid to say it how it is, which I loved.

Hi, I'm Sarah, I classify myself as a Unicorn Coach!
I’ve spent years coaching people in fitness, nutrition, personal development, dating and relationships. Different subjects, same job: helping them feel good.
And my background is why I knew I had to take a holistic approach to personal styling.
I fell into a “meh”, boring outfits era in my 30s and early 40s. My outfits were “fine”, but they showed no personality and never felt like me. (Glance right for proof!)
My wardrobe was full, but the combinations I put together never quite worked. Now and again I’d land on an outfit that did, but I couldn’t repeat it, so I always ended up back in fine. The inner work I’d been doing had changed who I was on the inside, but my wardrobe was still dressed for the woman I used to be.
Everything changed when I started trusting my own likes and dislikes and spotting the through-lines that made up my personal style.
From there, remixing became easy. I could see how to create outfits that felt exciting, true to me and simple to wear. Clothes I’d ignored for years suddenly worked in new ways, and I actually started saying F*ck Yeah when I looked in the mirror.
That’s exactly what I’ll guide you to do inside The Style Shift: Style & Love.
